Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial arts artist, and fights with the UFC flyweight division. Shevchenko is the older sister of her former UFC Flyweight champion and fellow UFC participant Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her journey as an Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in 2003 during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of the competition and beat Suzane Mill in the finals with a unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a second silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008, a gold in 2011, and then was named the 2015 IFMA World Amateur MuayThailand Champion. Antonia's professional career began in 2003. In 2012 she won in the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship and in 2016 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut took place in 2002 during the KFK Championships of Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She took home the second round TKO fight, and the subsequent two fights during the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. The result was her having a record of 3-0. Shevchenko took a short break from MMA and focused on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback at the end of 2017 in a fight with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa via unanimous decision and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She left the club and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina employed her impressive striking ability in order to TKO Nievera in the clinch via knees to the body. In the aftermath of this win Antonina received the chance to sign a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters' Finale, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight. She won the initial fight with a unanimous verdict. Antonina has recovered from her loss with a win over Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler with a back-naked choke. It earned her the fight-of-the-night bonus. Shevchenko lost 1-2 in her subsequent three bouts. She beat Ariane Lipski, but lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee.
